Chelsie & Amanda: Two women with a friendship founded on a unified calling of the heart with ONE purpose: to spread God's love to the women of Uganda, Africa. They met in 2011, through a mutual friend, in Birmingham, Alabama. Chelsie graduated from The University of Alabama and Amanda graduated from Auburn University. In 2013 their friendship bloomed after realizing they shared a passion for international missions. As Christians they believed that they have a responsibility to care for and serve orphans and widows (James 1:27). After working in different segments of Corporate America for several years, they discovered they were made for more and God called the two of them to move to Uganda to start a women's ministry they named Two for ONE Purpose.
God called them to give up everything they knew about a life of luxury in America and give Him complete control of their future. After a year of prayer they quit their jobs and began as self-funded missionaries, raising 100% of their own financial support. They have never looked back on the transition and agree it has been the best life transformation serving the forgotten people of Uganda. Their work gives them hope for the world and the eternal perspective became their new outlook on life with Acts 20:24 on the forefront of their mind.
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” — Acts 20:24
"Everyone can advance the gospel. No one can do everything. Everyone can do something. And whatever Jesus calls you to do is significant. You might not think you can do much. But God can take your little and make it much." –Ray Ortlund Jr
We know a God who gives hope to the hopeless, who loves the unlovable, who comforts the sorrowful… a God who isn’t going to forget the forgotten, neglect the neglected, orphan the orphaned, or abandon the abandoned. And He has wrapped these 120+ ladies and their children in His arms and given them hope through Two for ONE Purpose.
"If your greatest joy is to experience the infilling grace of God overflowing from you for the good of others, then the best news in all the world is that God will do the impossible through you for the salvation of the hidden peoples.” - John Piper
“We love because He first loved us.”— John 4:19
